Have you ever seen the tigers curled up like a sleeping lap cat? We'll compare the large cats to small cats to house cats through direct scientific observation. We'll even make a treat for the zoo's kitties. Significant writing and reading will be involved.

Learn how scientists identify animals! Practice identifying snails. We will create our own taxonomic key. Go on a classification treasure hunt around the zoo. Now ask yourself, are you an animal, plant or mineral?

Extinction is Forever (7 - 12 yrs old)
Whether due to hunting, habitat destruction or even a parasite infestation, there are many animals on the brink of extinction. We will investigate the reasons why animal populations become threatened or endangered and the effort to help them recover. Activities include a zoo animal population scavenger hunt and a sea turtle survival game. This program is inspired by the Blank Park Zoo's new Bald Eagle exhibit.

Water covers 75% of the Earth's surface and this class is an introduction to all things aquatic. Create beautiful artwork in the ancient Japanese style of Gyotaku (fish printing) using life-like rubber fish replicas. Measure the length of a Blue Whale. Learn how to be a steward for the future of our oceans!
